EKOGRID MARKET UPDATE – USA
EKOGRID™ Technology has been successfully used in Florida, USA to remediate MTBE in groundwater.
The project was done in two phases. Pilot phase was completed in 2020 and the large-scale project was completed and signed off in June this year. We thank our local partner Applied Science and Engineering LLC for their well conducted project management for this project.
If you would like to hear more about EKOGRID™ Technology and learn how to implement the technology in your remediation project, contact Iisak.lusua@ekogrid.fi for more information. We are actively looking for more remediation projects in the USA.
About the MTBE:
Methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) is a common gasoline additive often found in drinking water. Because of its physicochemical properties, it can contaminate large water volumes. MTBE dissolves easily in water and evaporates quickly. However, if MTBE is spilled on soil, some of it can seep into groundwater where it can remain unchanged for many years.
